The Marriott Long Wharf Hotel – Bringing Tech to Travel

Recently, the Marriott Long Wharf Hotel, located in beautiful Boston, kicked off an event with WIRED Magazine as part of their new Culturazzi Series. The event, called the Marriott MeetUp: Five Startups to Watch, featured host and champion of the startup world, Alexis Ohanian.

The event brought several of the most innovative members of the technologies cutting edge to the hotel.  Not only will the Marriott Hotels and Resorts continue to celebrate entrepreneurship in Boston and elsewhere, but they shine as a destination for these events.

Some of the other Culturazzi Series events include:

  • Humor Me Comedy Showcase in Marina Del Rey, California
  • Art Beats in San Francisco and
  • The WIRED Store of Curated Holiday Tech Products in New York City
Marriott Hotels and Resorts worldwide plan to transform their public areas and lobbies to accommodate the digital generation – a connected group that tends to blend work and leisure.
It Really Is the Little Things
I toured the Marriott Long Wharf Hotel facility.  The hotel – one known for its ideal location and top-notch service – has a sleek, stylish new look with appointments that will please anyone who’s got a need for digital connectivity. The overall interior design certainly impressed me, but it was the little details that really sold me.  Each seat in the eating and bar areas came equipped with its own electrical outlet, so guests could plug in their various mobile devices. For families, choosing to unplug may represent the optimum; for business travelers, the ability to remain connected when grabbing a quick bite is often essential. This well equipped hotel gives guests the power to choose. The hotel provides high-tech and high touch for the savvy business traveler with brand new, huge flat screen televisions in two of their well-appointed business centers. They offer a state-of-the-art fitness room complete with new exercise equipment – equipment I haven’t seen at my own gym. They even have an indoor pool!

Location and Luxury – What a Pair
Located right on the Boston waterfront, guests can walk one block to visit Faneuil Hall Marketplace and Quincy Market. While there, you’ll find one-of-a-kind gifts and exclusive specialty items.

I love Boston and when I’m there, I like to stay at a beautiful hotel that’s close to visitor destinations. The Marriott Long Wharf Hotel offers just that. Take a quick look at some of the places you’ll have the opportunity to see:

  • New England Aquarium
  • Italian North End
  • Freedom Trail Walking Tours
  • Boston Harbor Boat Cruises

What more can I say? This gorgeous hotel is in an ideal location, and the view – the view is not only inspiring, but beautiful to behold.  Since I don’t have the words to explain this vision, I’ll let the pictures from my visit speak for themselves.

I woke up to a magnificent stunning view of the sunrise, what a way to start the day!

But the experience isn’t just for families and casual travelers; business sojourners will enjoy excursions to the easily accessible, richly historic Long Wharf and bustling downtown Boston.

Five Star Food – Fabulous
The food at this Marriott reaches, and possibly exceeds, a five star level experience. The cuisine not only qualified as a work of art, each new dish I sampled at the tweet-up that night melted in my mouth. Yes, it’s worth it to fly out for a quick weekend jaunt, just to experience the flavor of Boston and other dishes at the Marriott Boston Long Wharf Hotel.

A Boston State of Mind
I love that you can take the ferry to and from the hotel and airport. For those who love the outdoors, you can also take the ferry to hike at the various nearby island locations.

It’s the little things in life, and I feel that the Marriott Boston Long Wharf Hotel captured the essence of what travelers need to stay comfortable while away from home. I love nice things, but being comfortable and feeling truly cared for while away from home is key when traveling.

I’ve always loved the charm, the pace and the friendly people from the Boston area. This is the best time of year to visit this beautiful, historic city. Thank you to the Marriott Long Wharf Hotel, and the detail-oriented team, for your personal touch and exquisite hospitality.

Stay tuned and I’ll share even more about the Culturazzi Series and an interview with none other than Alexis Ohanian.

The Marriott Long Wharf is one of my favorite Marriott locations too! I can’t believe that I missed you by a half a day here. For us, it is a lovely getaway spot that we can drive to and enjoy Boston which is a great city. One of my other favorite Marriott’s is the Marriott Marquis in Times Square, again amazing location. You can have a view of all the fantastic neon lights of Broadway. Also a bonus for me is that almost all the Marriott locations have a Starbucks in them.
    Thanks for sharing your trip!

  11. Marriott has always been a premier chain. They understand comfort and luxury. But, it’s hard to sell that when the client must go elsewhere for needed amenities – electronic support.

This pairing of electronic support and comfort keeps the client on property, and assures their experience will be top notch. Well done, Marriott.

  12. It’s been so long since I’ve been to Boston! Thanks so much for reminding me how beautiful it is! BTW I stayed recently at the Marriott Renaissance Hotel in Paris on the right bank. Very nice.

Will definitely give the Marriott Long Wharf Hotel a visit!

Keep all the fun info coming, Ann!
