Sand, Sea and Sensational Cuisine: #KFresh13 is Maui at its Best

The #KFresh13 (Ka’anapali Fresh 2013) event did not disappoint, and was very special to me.  First of all, it was in one of my favorite places to visit: Maui.

And on Maui, I was lucky enough to be staying at The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, located on what TripAdvisor travelers voted the U.S.’s best beach, which is where the #KFresh13 event was held.  I’m happy to say that, from start to finish, #KFresh13 was amazing.  With each stage of the event it got better and better, which speaks volumes about the talent of the organizers.  I was extremely impressed by their ability to orchestrate the event to be so wonderful and so completely seamless.

Jake Shimabukuro was not only funny and personable, he rocks the ukelele like nobody’s business.  It was definitely a treat to listen to Mr. Shimabukuro play Bohemian Rhapsody, while under the stars and enjoying the cool ocean breeze.

We heard beautiful Hawai’ian music from Makana—an unforgettable experience at #KFresh13’s closing night.

Sometimes, it’s just to hard to capture the beauty and excitement of a Hawai’ian adventure in words, so we put together a video recap to share with you.  I love the feedback on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Google+, and thank you so much for following along with us during our journey.  I have so many more photos to share.

Maui is an absolutely magical place, it’s true.  Mahalo, Shelley Kekuna, you and your group did an extraordinary job planning and conducting all the #KFresh13 events.   To top it all off, your Hawaii Wine Festival was unforgettable.

What an adventure and an epicurean experience!  Mahalo to everyone that welcomed us so graciously, including Shelley Kekuna and her talented team. You’ve helped me discover that Maui is really the Magic Isle.
