Meeting the King and Queen of Spices in Goa

Arriving in Goa, I didn’t think it could get more amazing—that is, until I went on the excursion to the Tropical Spice Plantation.

Think of the greenest place you’ve ever seen, and multiply it by 10. Then you’ll understand how lush and verdant this plantation is. You can almost feel the plants growing in the plantation’s rich soil, surrounded by beautiful trees, singing birds and soothing streams.

To be able to see where spices actually come from, and what they look like in their natural state (not what we see in the grocery store!), was a completely unique experience. I learned that the peppercorn is the King of Spices, accompanied by his Queen, cardamom. This tour was right up my alley, because I love spicy food, so to be surrounded by spices was quite a treat!

And on the @AzamaraQuest ship, these spices came to life during a party celebrating each region we toured, including their spices, flavors and cultures.

The feast was just one part of an amazing adventure that I was taken on by Azamara Club Cruises, and I loved being able to explore this spice route and the different countries along it. It was definitely an unforgettable cruise and an experience I will cherish.
