The plan for June is three direct flights a week from Anchorage to Frankfurt. I wonder what the main attraction to our 49<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0and biggest state is. Glaciers? Unspoiled wilderness and the dense population of wildlife?\u00a0Hiking? Learning about the indigenous culture? Delicious seafood? I say \u201cyes\u201d to all of the above and more!<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"And_the_Rest_of_North_America\"><\/span><strong>And the Rest of North America?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Because North America is a key market for the Lufthansa Group, some transatlantic routes will resume in the summer schedule. SWISS will bring back the Miami \u2013 Zurich route beginning March 28, with up to five weekly runs. The Boston \u2013Zurich route starts back up on May 1 with up to 7 weekly services; the Los Angeles \u2013 Zurich route will have up to five weekly services.<\/p>\n<p>And according to a company press release, \u201cIn May, Austrian Airlines will once again be flying three times a week to New York\u2019s JFK and Montreal, both to and from Vienna.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Doing_It_with_Leisure\"><\/span><strong>Doing It with Leisure<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>For summer, leisure destinations are the focus of Lufthansa\u2019s hubs \u2014 Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, Zurich. The plan is to add about 20 new vacation spots for those leaving from Frankfurt and 13 from Munich. Think the Caribbean, the Canary Islands, and Greece.
