Pabu ~ A Savory Sushi Sake Paradise

Recently, I had the opportunity to meet a wonderful group of  travel and food bloggers in Baltimore, MD.  We enjoyed a delicious dinner together, hosted by  Chef Michael Mina and Chef Ken Tominaga along with (@Patric_Yumul) at the Four Seasons Hotel’s Pabu Restaurant (@PABUizakaya).  Chef Tominaga (@Benkei0303) and his amazing team served up a tantalizing spread of Japanese cuisine that made the already special evening an exquisite culinary experience.

Our gracious hosts treated us to A Taste of Pabu – a full seven course meal that delighted the taste-buds and added a new dimension to our dining repertoire.  The team prepared a savory array of  sushi and grilled entrees from the menus they provided to us.  I must admit, I wasn’t sure how each of these unfamiliar dishes would taste and eagerly anticipated my foray into this new dining adventure.

Each beautifully arranged course appeared before us, looking like edible works of art.  The presentation was a feast for the eyes as well as the mouth.  We also enjoyed a sake tasting with the various dishes, learning about the history and the many different varieties of this uniquely Asian beverage.
Sake expert, Tiffany Soto (@HeySakeLady) is a Sake Sommelier and one of only five sake Certified Master Educators in the United states.  She also holds the distinction of being the first woman to achieve official certification.  I look forward to heading back to meet with Tiffany and  Chris Ford (@bttrlovehardwrk) for a sake class and dessert.

We thoroughly enjoyed the food and social media conversations we had with our friends, some of whom we met for the first time.  Many thanks to the amazing chefs and the entire #Pabu team and for a wonderful night at the Pabu Restaurant (PABUizakaya).
My final word and assessment?  So, if you’re ever  in Baltimore, MD, I urge you to put this exquisite restaurant on your activity list – you’ll be glad you did!
